1. Do Windows Update

After Windows Update is done, and when you see 'You're up to date', you have completed the Windows update.

Take a full screenshot like the last picture above, including the Date and Time at the bottom right hand side corner, and save the screenshot. (Screenshot 1)


2. Check 'C:\Users\' folder

3. Check if there is 'BidDefender' or 'McAfee' or any other antivirus software on your computer

Open the File Explorer, Copy and paste the following address into the address box of File Explorer. Press Enter.

Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features


You will see all the application software installed.


Let IT know if there is BidDefender, or McAfee, or any other antivirus software on your computer.

If there is any, contact IT, and proceed to the next step.

If there is not any, it means the default Microsoft Defender is running. Close the File Explorer. Proceed to the next step now.


4. Run a Microsoft Virus & Threat Protection FULL scan

Click the Shield icon at the bottom right hand side corner. (If the Shield icon has no green check mark in, or you can not find the icon, contact IT.)


Next, if you see 'Account protection' and 'App & browser control' of which there is an exclamation mark on both, please let IT know, and IT will fix them.



Next,


Make sure that they are all green check marks on the page.

If not, contact IT to process next step.

If all checked, please click 'Virus & threat protection'.

After the FULL scan is completed, please take a FULL screenshot and save it. (Screenshot 3)





5. Finally, send screenshot 1, 2, 3 to IT at once

6. IT will remotely help complete other virus inspection tasks.
